Peace Love Nails - Where woman gather and get away

Celebrate birthdays, showers, bridal parties - anything you want - in a fun setting

Ever shy away from your neighborhood nail salon out of fear of less-than-hygienic practices? You won't have to worry about that at Peace.Love.Nails. In fact, owner Pam Krueger is adamant about practicing and promoting a bacteria-free environment for her clients. These are just a few examples of how Peace.Love.Nails practices safe nails:
Disposable nail files and buffers
Each client receives a brand new nail file and buffer. We never reuse these items.
No Spa Pedicure Chairs or Plastic Soaking Basins
Spa chair basins must be thoroughly cleaned between each use for 10 minutes and must soak overnight for disinfectants to work properly. Spa pedicure manuals clearly state that failure to clean the chairs adequately can result in serious health issues. We have chosen to use antimicrobial copper bowls that are properly cleaned.
Copper soaking bowls
Substantial evidence has shown that copper naturally inhibits pathogens. In fact, the EPA approved copper as an antimicrobial aid in reducing bacterial infections. Peace.Love.Nails uses portable copper bowls instead of plastic spa chair basins for all pedicures, and we clean and disinfect each bowl between use.
Autoclaves
Peace.Love.Nails uses a medical autoclave (a high-pressurize sterilizing device that kills viruses, bacteria, spores and fungi) to sterilize all implements used in manicures and pedicures. A freshly sterilized set of tools will be used for each client.
Tea Tree Oil
Tea tree oil has been approved by the FDA as natural disinfectant. We use tea tree oil based products for cleaning surfaces and to treat existing cuts and scrapes presented by guests.
Non-dibutyl phthalate (DBP) polishes
Many traditional nail polish manufacturers use DPG, which acts as a binder for polish to make it last longer. Several consumer alerts were issued by major newspapers in 2006 regarding dibutyl phthalate (DBP). The chemical has been linked to cancer. It may be important for pregnant or nursing women to avoid DBP, as well as for women with health issues. None of the polishes we use contains DBP.
Formaldehyde and Toluene-free policy
Peace.Love.Nails is a formaldehyde- and toluene-free polish zone. Formaldehyde has been listed as a probable human carcinogen since 1987. Toluene is a nervous system toxin. In polish, toluene helps to smooth the coating and adhere to the nail and can lead to organ damage, birth defects and developmental abnormalities. None of our products contain these chemicals.
Notice: Peace.Love.Nails specializes in natural nails only.
